Izzy Candir
Izzy Candir is a final year medical student at the University of Leeds and an incoming Academic Foundation Programme doctor. She has led research through her ESREP project, managing ethics, recruitment, and data analysis, and founded Leeds A2M, a widening participation initiative supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds. Izzy has spoken on BBC Radio Leeds about representation in medicine and continues to advocate for equitable access to medical careers.

Her academic interests include extreme environment physiology, expedition medicine, and space medicine, with a growing focus on gender equity in physiological research. Outside her studies, Izzy loves the outdoors and exploring new parts of the world.
