Lukas Krone

Lukas is a medical doctor and neuroscientist, currently a Sir Henry Wellcome Fellow at Oxford’s Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour (CNCB) and the Staines Medical Research Fellow at Exeter College. Driven by curiosity about the universe inside our heads, he has held residency positions in neurosurgery, neurology, and psychiatry, and completed a DPhil in neuroscience. His research focuses on the neuronal regulation and functions of sleep.

In his free time, Lukas enjoys exploring the universe outside our heads—swimming, rowing, climbing, hiking, or mountain biking in the summer, and cross-country or backcountry skiing in the winter. Combining his passions for medicine and the outdoors, he is currently training in mountain and expedition medicine.
