Oliver Sutcliff

I’m Oliver, a 2nd year DPhil student joining the Greenland expedition team as (… a secondary medical officer?). I completed my medical training through Otago University in 2022 before moving to Whangārei hospital to work as a House Officer. Since then I have taken up a NZ Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford - first studying a Master of Public Policy, before starting my DPhil looking at the impact of temperature on population health in the context of climate change.

I was born and raised in NZ and there discovered a passion for the outdoors, including tramping, freediving, bikepacking, and packrafting. I look forward to translating both my medical and outdoors experience into this arctic context, and contributing to the exciting research we have planned!
