Olivier Zanier
Olivier is a physician and DPhil student in Oncology, set to join the Iceland expedition as its medical officer. His research focuses on novel therapies for paediatric high-grade gliomas (a type of malignant childhood brain cancer), with particular interest in their efficacy when combined with radiotherapy and in hypoxic (insufficient oxygen) conditions, a hallmark of cancer.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Zurich, where he also conducted extracurricular research on machine learning applications in neurosurgery and neuro-oncology. His work has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications, international conference presentations, and contributions to book chapters.

In his free time, Olivier rows with Wolfson College Boat Club and enjoys strength training at the gym. He looks forward to expanding his medical horizons through expedition medicine and to applying his expertise in the unique and challenging environment of Iceland.
