Rachel Niesen

 Rachel Niesen is a medical doctor from Australia, currently pursuing an MSc in Applied Digital Health at the University of Oxford (2024–25), followed by a Master of Public Policy (2025–26). Her academic interests lie in healthcare policy that advances equity, safety, and system efficiency. Back home, Rachel is training in critical care medicine and brings her clinical expertise to the expedition as Medical Officer. With a growing interest in wilderness medicine, she looks forward to supporting the scientific goals of the team. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys hiking and rock climbing, and is eager to take on the unique challenges of the Arctic environment.
